Bernard Parker has left his position as TS Galaxy head coach following a damaging run of poor results. The former Kaizer Chiefs striker departed after back-to-back defeats to newly promoted sides Kruger United and Chippa United.

Chairman Tim Sukazi was critical of the team's performances, describing the 1-0 loss to Kruger United as the club's worst match ever. Parker was subsequently demoted before his exit, with Sukazi recommending he focus on enhancing his coaching credentials. Parker has now enrolled for his UEFA coaching badges, with studies set to begin in November.

Parker defended his team's efforts in the final matches, pointing to a red card shown to Veluyeke Zulu in the 50th minute against Kruger United as a turning point. He stated the team played with ten men for most of the second half and conceded the decisive goal in the 73rd minute. A week later, he felt the performance against Chippa United was better but chances were missed, leading to another 1-0 defeat, with K. Majadibodu scoring for Chippa United in the 62nd minute.

Club's current league position

The coaching change has done little to arrest the slide, with TS Galaxy losing 3-0 to Orlando Pirates in their first match post-Parker, where goals from Boitumelo Lawrence Radiopane, Tshepang Moremi, and Simphiwe Masilela sealed the defeat. That result forms part of a three-game losing streak, leaving the Rockets 13th in the Premier Soccer League with just six points from eight matches, having recorded one win, three draws, and four defeats. They have scored seven goals but conceded twelve, leaving them with a negative five goal difference and a massive 17 points adrift of leaders Mamelodi Sundowns. The team's recent form shows a single win in their last five league outings, a run that has seen them drop perilously close to the relegation zone.

Striker V. Letsoalo is the team's top scorer this season with four goals, but the side has struggled for consistency. Their immediate focus shifts to an away fixture against 11th-placed Polokwane City on Saturday 31 October, a match that will test their ability to halt this poor run. Polokwane City currently sits two places and two points above Galaxy in the standings, making the encounter a critical six-pointer.

The task for the next coach, or interim leadership, is clear: stop the rot and start climbing the standings. A positive result against Polokwane City is now essential to build any momentum.
