TS Galaxy FC's next league opponents, Orlando Pirates, will contest a sold-out MTN8 final against Mamelodi Sundowns next week. All general access tickets for the showpiece at Moses Mabhida Stadium were snapped up within hours of going on sale this Friday, despite widespread technical problems with the OpenTickets platform that left many fans frustrated.

The Premier Soccer League confirmed the sell-out on its official social media pages. "Tickets for the #MTN8 final between @orlandopirates and @Masandawana are officially sold out," the official PSL said. Approximately 48,000 tickets, priced at R150 each, were allocated for general access and sold out in about ten and a half hours after going on sale at 10am, with the digital system crashing due to high demand before being restored.

Pirates chase fifth straight title

Orlando Pirates are bidding for a historic fifth consecutive MTN8 title, having won the competition in 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025. Their opponents, Mamelodi Sundowns, are seeking only their second title in 18 years, their previous win coming in 2021. This will be the fourth time in the last five seasons the two giants have met in the MTN8.

The final is scheduled for Saturday, 10 October at 18:00, with Pirates designated as the home side. No physical tickets will be sold at the venue, and fans are limited to four tickets per person, with transfers only possible via the official OpenTickets platform. The match will be broadcast live on SuperSport PSL and SABC 1.

For TS Galaxy, who sit 12th in the Premier Soccer League with 6 points from 7 games, the focus shifts to their next fixture. They face Orlando Pirates away on 18 October, a side currently second in the table and preparing for a cup final.
